Diagnosing the Error

Reset Internet Explorer

Troubleshoot runtime errors by resetting Internet Explorer…

  1. Launch Internet Explorer
  2. Click on the Tools menu (Options)
  3. Select Internet Options from the menu. A new window will open.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. Click the Reset button. Another window will open.

  6. Check the box next to Delete personal settings. You will lose saved browsing history, saved passswords, etc. but it is necessary for these troubleshooting steps.
  7. Click the Reset button. Another window will open showing progress of the requested action. Click “Close” when finished.

Disable Error Messages

If you are still receiving error messages after resetting Internet Explorer, try disabling debug error messages in Internet Options.

  2. Click on the Tools menu (Options)
  3. Select Internet Options from the menu. A new window will open.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. Check the boxes next to Disable script debuggin (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other)

Re-Install Runtime Libraries

If you are still receiving runtime errors, try uninstalling and re-installing the offending files for the erroneous runtime.   1. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time to open the Run prompt.
  2. Type into the Run prompt: appwiz.cpl
    run_appwiz
  3. Press Enter. The Add/Remove program control panel snap-in will open in a new window.
